Sometimes when a term or phrase becomes very popular, it gets abused and misused. “Black Friday” is no exception. Below are some examples of the use of “Black Friday” that leaves us scratching our heads, especially when you consider the history of Black Friday and what it has been widely accepted as today.

- a song by Megadeth from the perspective of a serial killer.
- a tornado which occurred on the afternoon of Friday, July 31, 2024
- the Friday before Black Tuesday 1929stock market crash in the U.S.
- a fire in the state of Victoria in Australia in 1939.
- a party celebrated in parts of Europe the Friday before Christmas
- a day to rescue black dogs and cats.
- various black outs (power losses) that fall on Fridays
- 2004 film about the 1993 serial Bombay bomb blasts
- 1940 film about a professor who gets a partial brain implant from a dead gangster.
