When shopping for holiday gifts, it can be hard to know what to get everyone on your list. We have put our minds together to create the ultimate list of gift ideas to help you cover all of the recipients on your list: Moms/Wives, Dads/Husbands, Grandparents, Kids and Teens, and Techies and Gamers.

Moms and Wives

When shopping for the adult women in your life, the most ideal gifts focus on technology, comfort, style, and nostalgia.

As technology continues to grow, and the idea of having printed photos in an album, or childhood memories on videotape rather than DVD becomes a thing of the past, buying the Mom/Wife on your list a converter to convert tapes to DVD or a scanner to digitize the photos is a great way to capitalize on both technology and nostalgia.

While we do not recommend buying clothes for anyone else, it’s safe to select accessories if you know her taste well enough, and if not, purchasing a gift card to her favorite store is always an option.

Dads and Husbands

When shopping for the adult men in your life, the ideal gifts focus on technology, sports and outdoors and other hobbies, as well as comfort and convenience.

Does Dad enjoy watching sports? A new TV or tickets to his favorite sporting event to watch live would provide an enjoyable experience for him. Does he enjoy playing sports? Visit a local sporting goods store to update his equipment, no matter what he plays. A new set of golf clubs, for example, will help him improve his game on the green.

If you are looking for something to keep Dad comfortable, search for a nice recliner, such as a La-Z-Boy, because they offer many different options, including office chairs.

Grandmas and Grandpas

When shopping for grandparents, the most ideal gifts focus on comfort and convenience, nostalgia, and/or entertainment.

Grandma will love things such as quilts, books, and jewelry to commemorate all of her children and grandchildren. She will enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with an Life Magazine printed in the week of her birth (most years from 1939-2009 are available), or classic board games she played, such as Monopoly, Scrabble, or Life.

Grandpa will love things such as a new comfortable computer chair to use while he plays games, new fishing equipment, or a season of his favorite television show on DVD.

Both Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy things such as large button TV remotes, to make it easier to see and change the channel. Oversized terry or suede robes and slippers will leave them resting in comfort. Food gifts are also an excellent idea as cooking is not always on the list of fun things to do. Look to something like EdibleArrangements.com to provide a beautiful gift and a healthy snack.

Kids and Teens

Shopping for children and teens can be a little tricky because many children seek gifts that they are too young for, but focus on: movies and books, music and games, technology and clothing/jewelry accessories and you will be sure to find a hit gift.

For babies, stick to toys that will help them learn motor and speech skills, from companies such as Fisher-Price, Baby Einstein, and PlaySkool.

For younger children, aim for educational toys, music, videos, and games, from brands such as: Fisher Price, Playskool, Leap Frog, and VTech.

For older children and pre-teens, try to select options that will give them independence and responsibility, such as the Leap Frog Leap Pad or their own MP3 player, without spending a lot of money on something like the iPod Touch.

For teenagers, their own computer, their own cell phone, or their own iPod are good technology gifts. Teen girls are into clothes and accessories, but rather than pick those items out for her, select gift cards to stores you know she likes, and take her shopping so you can select clothing items you approve of. Teen boys will appreciate a variety of sports gifts similar to those we’ve mentioned for Dad.

Techies and Gamers

Techies and gamers give an interesting, yet somewhat limiting array of gift ideas, because they are the most likely to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

When it comes to shopping for a techie, look for something you have been hearing them talk about, but you know they do not already have. Ideas include many of the same things we have already mentioned, such as: eBook readers, tablet computers (think iPad), newer Smartphones, and televisions. If the techie you know is always on the go and needs to have Internet access no matter where they are, then a mobile Wi-Fi unit, available through most cell phone companies, (Verizon Mi-Fi, for instance) is the perfect solution. If the techie in your life loves high definition television, and bigger is always better, try a 3D television that is Internet ready, such as VIZIO’s 55 inch 1080p (full high definition) 3D TV with Internet apps.

For gamers, it is important to know their gaming method of choice, as video gaming comes across multiple consoles, computers, and even in-person live gaming through role playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons. Once you know whether they are a console gamer and what console they use: Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, or PlayStation 3, or whether they are a computer gamer using a PC or a Mac, or a live gamer, you have a better idea of what options would work best.

For the console gamer: A new game, a new wireless controller, a new gaming chair, or a GameFly.com membership to keep new games flowing in all the time, would all be excellent options. If the gamer on your list has multiple consoles, then GameFly.com is an investment because they can choose a new game from any of the consoles.

For the computer gamer: Computer gamers can play online or offline. You have the option to purchase a new game for them, or if they play online, you could purchase a gift membership for them to use toward their renewal. There are many different accessories a computer gamer can use, such as a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, or headset. Computer gamers will also need a comfortable office chair.

For the live gamer: Look for strategy guides for games you know they play, or accessories like dice to help them enhance their game playing experience.
