Black Friday and Cyber Monday are all about snagging the best deal on popular products. To help you know more about what you're buying, and to help you make the most educated choice possible, here's what you need to know about shopping for Xbox One S Black Friday deals.

When will Xbox Series S be back in stock?

Last year, both the Xbox Series S and Series X were constantly going out of stock. Thankfully, if you want to buy the Series S, it’s much easier to find one of these systems now (and gamers everywhere are rejoicing).

You can go to many of your favorite retailers and find a brand-new console to buy. However, because these video game systems are still so new, it can be more difficult to find discounts on them. As a result, you’ll likely have to pay full price, until the Xbox One S Black Friday deals come out.

Xbox S video game console Black Friday deals / availability

  • Microsoft Xbox Series S 512GB Video Game Console: $299 at Walmart
  • Microsoft Xbox Series S 512GB All-Digital Console: $299.99 at Best Buy
  • Xbox Series S console: $599.76 (total amount financed) for console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at Target — available for in-store pick up only
  • Xbox Series S All-Digital Console: $289.99 at Costco — for members only

When was the Xbox One S released?

Like its much more expensive sibling, the Xbox One X, the Xbox Series S was first released Nov. 10, 2020. Since it’s been in our lives for about a year, it’s become much easier to find one of these consoles to purchase. However, we can’t say the same about the Xbox Series X.

How much is an Xbox One S on Black Friday?

You’ll quickly find that the answer to this question depends on where you’re shopping. Xbox One S Black Friday deals truly vary depending on the retailer. While we didn’t see any deep discounts on the then-new console, this year should inspire some retailers to drop their prices for the Biggest Shopping Day of the Year and Cyber Monday.

You’ll also have a good chance of finding an Xbox One S bundle deal on Black Friday. When you purchase one, you can get extras like new games and an Xbox One S controller, which makes it more affordable to get all the essentials you need to start gaming right away. So, be sure to keep your eyes open for the bundle bargains on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Even if you already have this amazing console, you’ll still want to shop the holiday sales. Wondering why? It’s because Black Friday and Cyber Monday are great times to pick up more games for your Xbox One S. Just know that you’ll find that the best deals are on games from last year. That being said, some retailers also offer smaller discounts on newer titles.

Where can you get an Xbox Series S?

As you start your search for Black Friday bargains on this popular console, we recommend checking out the Walmart Xbox One S Black Friday deals. This retailer is famous for offering great savings and bundle deals on the Biggest Shopping Day of the Year.

However, Walmart isn’t the only place in town that you can find Xbox One S Black Friday deals. You can also check the following retailers in both their store locations and on their websites.

If you aren’t able to snag an Xbox Series S on Black Friday, don’t despair! There will be other opportunities to save throughout the holiday season. There’s Cyber Monday and all of Cyber Week, not to mention the other various sales that pop up in the weeks leading to the Christmas holiday.

Xbox One S features

When you’re trying to decide whether to buy an Xbox One X vs. Xbox One S, it helps to know a little about this model. First of all, the Xbox One S is all digital. What does this mean? It turns out that means several things:

  • The Xbox Series S is the lower-priced console ($299 full price), compared to the Xbox Series X ($499 full price).
  • The Xbox Series S has pared-down specs, compared to the Series X and is also smaller in size.
  • This model has no optical drive, meaning it can play only digital games (not physical ones, like the Series X can).

Aside from these differences, both systems use the same controllers and are compatible with previous-generation controllers.

Additionally, the Xbox Series S is backwards compatible with Xbox One games, assuming you have digital Xbox One S versions of those games (not physical) games. It will also be able to play digital versions of new-release Xbox games.
