Hi, My name is Heather Schisler and I'm the founder of PassionForSavings.com. I love saving money and I love sharing great deals and I'm excited to be joining the team here at BlackFriday.com to bring you insider tips and tricks on all the ways you can save money this holiday season.
I have some great news for all of the Target Deal Lovers out there. This holiday season Target has announced that they will be price matching online prices!
This year Target is stepping up its game to be more competitive with online retailers. Beginning on November 1, 2024 Target will offer guests the ability to match the following online retailers: Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and ToysRUs.com.
In addition to price matching online prices Target will also be offering an extended Price Adjustment Policy. If you purchase an item between November 1st and December 24th and then find the identical item for less at Target, on Target.com or in a competitors printed ad you can take your receipt and ad in to the store to get a refund for the difference.
I wanted to give you a few of the highlights of the new Online Price Matching Policy to help make the process a little easier for you.
- Only Select Online Retailers are included. You'll want to check the Target Holiday Price Match Policy on their website, but it looks like the following websites are currently included: Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com or BabiesRUs.com.
- There is a Quantity Limit of 1 so you can only price match one item.
- You must be able to prove the price on the competitor website is a valid price at the time the price match is requested. That means if an item is out of stock you won't be able to get the price in stores.
- Excludes 3rd Party Sellers. This is important when you are matching an Amazon Price, the item must be sold by Amazon.com, not another seller.
- Black Friday Prices are excluded. There is an exception for the Online Competitor matching policy that excludes items on sale during the following dates: Online prices from Nov. 22-26 are excluded.
There are a lot of exclusions in the policy that you will want to pay attention to as well, here are a few that stuck out to me:
- Items Purchased at Target.com are excluded. This adjustment and online competitor policy only applies to items purchased in stores.
- Prices Displayed after "Log In" are excluded. So if the price is only available for members or an exclusive price it won't qualify.
- Items out of Stock are excluded. This makes it a little more complicated, if you find a great online price you'll want to make it to your store to price match before the item sells out online.
- Bundled Offers are excluded. This includes Amazon.com Add on Items or multiple purchase items.
- Daily Deals, Lightning Deals, Gold Box Deals and Deals of the Day are all excluded.
So what do you think about the new trend for retailers to price match online prices? I'd love to know if you plan on trying to price match online prices at local retailers this year.
