Alexa Echo Dot details
The Alexa Echo released in 2015 and is an in-home speaker unit that functions as both a voice interaction device and as a music playback unit. In addition to those two main features, thanks to Alexa, the Echo can also set and active music alarms, play audiobooks, issue weather updates and warnings, and play podcasts.
The device is constantly listening to its surroundings and will activate upon various voice commands. It can answer questions by using Google to provide answers and it can also control various aspects of your house that are operated remotely. The Echo Dot is just a slimmed down, smaller scale version of the Echo. They are identical in essentially every way but size.
Alexa Echo Dot deals
The Alexa Echo Dot currently retails for only $39 at all major retailers. An updated version of the Alexa Echo, called the Alexa Echo Plus, retails for $149. It features all the same functionality as the Alexa Echo, but features better sound quality, room temperature sensor, and is slightly smaller. The original Echo retails for $99.
The newest generation of the Alexa Echo was on sale during last year’s Cyber Monday deal at Amazon for $20 off. The Alexa Echo Dot did not see a discount on either Cyber Monday or Black Friday. Amazon also ran sales on the Alexa Echo Dot and the Alexa Echo Plus. While other retailers sell and carry the Alexa Echo, Amazon will be most likely to have a fantastic sale price on the unit this holiday season.
